Baby Love ~ Little Miss A makes the world a cuter place!

When mom K contacted me about a newborn session, she was already overdue by one week and waiting for the arrival of her little bundle.  So when baby A finally decided to join our world I was looking forward to meeting this 8lb 14 oz little girl.

She was a superstar sleeper for the first part of the session, and then we managed to get some cute awake shots.  Love the eye contact too!  Mom and Dad look so content with their new little girl, and I hope they enjoy these teasers.

Throwback Thursday – Coquitlam Newborn Photographer

This family was so laid back and casual with their first born son…. I remember this shoot so well.  New parents can be anywhere on the spectrum from sleep-deprived, high-strung, to calm and casual, and this couple definitely fell into the latter category.

Little Mr. R, pictured here, just welcomed a new brother into the world a few weeks ago, and I get to meet him on Sunday.  I’m looking forward to seeing how much R has grown in the past 2 1/2 years and seeing the family again.

RomanThrowbackYay for more cute baby snuggles!  Keep your eyes peeled for more baby cuteness once I take his brother’s shots!

Adorable Mr. E – Coquitlam Newborn Photography

I had the pleasure of having little Mister E in the studio last week… what an amazing little guy.  Only 7 days old and he had already figured out that sticking his thumb in his mouth and sucking on it was calming, so he self-soothed throughout our session.  What a dream!  His big sister C was amazing too… she spent her time playing in the playroom and making pizza and cake for us. Super cute.

Here is Mister E’s sneak peek, in black and white because I love the simplicity and how it focuses on the important parts… the cute little baby! Enjoy!

Throwback Thursday – Coquitlam – Port Moody Newborn Photographer

While in the middle of editing the latest addition to the J family, I thought back to 2011 when I took big sister C’s newborn photos.  Here’s this week’s Throwback Thursday, to when C was just brand new!

Cuddly Mr. C – Coquitlam Newborn Photography

I had  the pleasure of having N and W back in the studio with their brand new little boy.  Mr. C was such a charmer, staying awake for quite a bit of the session, but just relaxing and being happy.  I always count my blessings when I get to shoot new babies in my studio, as I get my cuddles and coos.  It’s been 5 years since my youngest was a baby, so I’m always glad to snuggle with the little ones for the short time I see them.

Enjoy Mr. C’s sneak peek:

Throwback Thursday – Coquitlam Newborn Photographer

It just came to me that I have only been photographing newborns for 3 1/2 years.  It’s such a part of my life and work now that, to me, it feels like I’ve been doing it forever. My spare room is stuffed full of baskets, blankets, hats, fabrics, and when I walk through stores I look at things and wonder, “Can I put a baby into that?”

Here is a look-back at one of my very first newborn shoots, and then a comparison to one from a few weeks ago.  I think I’ve come a long way!

Simply adorable – Coquitlam Newborn Session

When Carla contacted me to do her newborn photos, I was excited. Then she told me she had two other children and I was over the moon! I love incorporating siblings into newborn shoots, and capturing the new addition with the whole family.  Her two older children were dreams… played in the playroom or my sons rooms with barely a peep while little Miss G slept peacefully on in my studio.

Here are some of my favourites from the session…
